Ulsan City Implements R&D Support Group Development Support Project

"Strengthening the Role of Regional Research and Development Command Headquarters"

Ulsan City announced on the 4th that it will implement a Research and Development Support Group Development Support Project to perform the function of a regional research and development hub.


This project was prepared to promote specialized customized policies aligned with regional research and development (R&D) policies through cooperation between the central government and the region.


By the end of this year, a total of 420 million KRW (170 million KRW from the central government, 250 million KRW from the city) will be invested to support △regional science and technology policy △investigation and analysis of the status and performance of regional R&D projects △planning, evaluation, and performance management of R&D projects △regional networking, and more.


This year, the focus will be on establishing a regional science and technology innovation plan and a regional industrial technology roadmap, forming and operating a regional science and technology council, and improving the integrated performance management system throughout the entire R&D project cycle.


Ulsan City expects this project to strengthen the role of the regional R&D control tower and contribute to enhancing regional science and technology innovation capabilities based on science and technology data.


An official from Ulsan City stated, “Ulsan Technopark is faithfully performing its role as the dedicated R&D institution for the Ulsan region,” and added, “We will make every effort to advance the management system of R&D projects and strengthen the Ulsan science and technology ecosystem.”
