Jo Guk, leader of the Jo Guk Innovation Party, said regarding the failure to host the 2030 World Expo in Busan, "We will demand a parliamentary investigation and uncover the truth."
In his speech at the 'Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam General Election Victory Report Meeting' held on the 3rd, Representative Jo stated, "When the 22nd National Assembly convenes, we will thoroughly hold accountable those responsible for the failure to host the Busan Expo."
He said, "The final result of the Busan Expo bid by President Yoon Seok-yeol, South Korea's first salesperson, was a disastrous failure," and asked the audience, "He said he was a salesperson, but how should we deal with a salesperson who fails in sales and causes huge losses to the company?"
He continued, "Isn't this the result that shows President Yoon Seok-yeol and his spouse Kim Geon-hee did not engage in diplomacy for the Expo bid but rather went on overseas trips and luxury shopping?" and emphasized, "We will demand a parliamentary investigation and uncover the truth."
Representative Jo added, "We will hold accountable in the National Assembly for the responsibility of causing citizens a sense of loss and pain, wasting over 550 billion won of taxpayers' money, going on overseas tours as if going for a drink but returning empty-handed, misleading public opinion by calling it a close race and giving false reports to the people, allowing the candidate responsible for the bid failure to run in the general election, and all other responsibilities."
