China has launched the lunar probe Chang'e 6, according to a report by China's Xinhua News Agency on the 3rd.
According to the report, China's space authorities launched the Long March-5 Y8 rocket carrying the Chang'e 6 probe from the Wenchang Space Launch Site in Hainan Province.
Chang'e 6 is expected to reach the Earth-Moon transfer orbit, collect samples from the far side of the Moon for the first time in human history, and return them to Earth.
