Gangnam-gu Opens Food Hygiene Integrated Support Center to Aid Restaurant Environment Improvement

Gangnam-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) announced on the 3rd that it has established the Food Hygiene Integrated Support Center on the 2nd floor of the public health center and held an opening ceremony on the 29th of last month to efficiently promote this year's new project.

The Food Hygiene Integrated Support Center is an organization established for the first time nationwide by Gangnam-gu to systematically support the improvement of restaurant environments, moving beyond the existing inspection and monitoring tasks.

As its first project this year, the center will promote the ‘Support Project for Obtaining the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety Hygiene Grade Designation’ for small-scale restaurants. Since the acquisition process is complicated and burdensome for business owners, the center plans to actively support them with customized consulting from application to acquisition of the hygiene grade. Additionally, it plans to develop projects that can professionally support exemplary restaurants and Hyo Sarang establishments.

District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong stated, “As Gangnam-gu is the area with the highest concentration of restaurants in Seoul, we have made special efforts to create high-quality service and a clean business environment for restaurants. Through proactive support to improve the hygiene environment of small-scale businesses, we will create a dining environment that anyone can trust and visit.”
