Chairman No Tae-yoon of the council stated, “Due to the recent frequent rains, pest and disease outbreaks are expected, so thorough pest control is essential. We must enhance the quality competitiveness of Gyeongnam onions through onion cultivation education,” adding, “The council will do its best to play a central role in regulating onion supply and stabilizing prices.”

Director Cho Geun-soo said, “Recently, the second growth of garlic and scape garlic have occurred extensively. As May is the main growth period for onions, we urge thorough prevention of onion pests and diseases and stabilization of supply. During the harvest season, the Yangpa Gyeongnam Council should take the lead in determining appropriate purchase prices and adjusting shipments to help farmers, and we ask for your utmost efforts in developing the onion business.”
