The Anti-Corruption Investigation Division 2 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Choi Jae-hoon) sent prosecutors and investigators to the National Assembly Secretariat on the morning of the 3rd to conduct a search and seizure of the Legislative Affairs Office and servers.

The prosecution suspects that Lawmaker Yoon received bribes in return for submitting bills in the direction desired by a specific company.

It is reported that the prosecution uncovered Yoon's charges, a separate case, during the investigation of the Democratic Party's cash envelope scandal.

In the first trial, Lawmaker Yoon was sentenced to two years in prison on charges of receiving 60 million won with the intent to provide cash envelopes to fellow lawmakers to support former party leader Song Young-gil's election ahead of the 2021 Democratic Party leadership election. He is also facing additional prosecution for allegedly distributing the received money and is currently on trial.
