Dreams and hopes were delivered as Children's Day gifts to pediatric and adolescent patients at Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital.
On the 3rd, Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital announced that on the 2nd, Professor Jang Ho-cheol of the Hematology Department and the Yumi Foundation each donated a state-of-the-art TV and 60 wireless fans, respectively.
The TV worth approximately 1.1 million won donated by Professor Jang Ho-cheol will be used for classes at the 'Yeomi Sarang Hospital School,' which was opened for the education of pediatric cancer patients.
Additionally, the wireless fans were distributed to patients who participated in the Children's Day event held at Gwangju Family Land on the 27th of last month, as well as to pediatric and adolescent inpatients in Ward 73, which specializes in pediatric cancer treatment.
Professor Jang Ho-cheol said, “Yeomi School is a special educational institution established so that children hospitalized at Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital can continue their studies without interruption. I hope the items I donated will be of great help to the elementary, middle, and high school students at Yeomi School. Just like the lush May, I hope our children’s dreams grow green and strong.”
The Yumi Foundation, which signed an agreement with Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital last November, has recently pledged to donate gifts for pediatric and adolescent patient recovery celebrations and support living expenses for patients, carrying out various projects to help children with rare diseases and their families.
Hospital Director Min Jeong-jun said, “On this beautiful spring day with fresh greenery, thanks to the many people who joined together to give hope and courage to the patients receiving treatment at the hospital, it seems we are having an even more beautiful May. All members of our hospital, including the medical staff, will continue to strive for the complete recovery of our pediatric patients.”
Meanwhile, on the 27th of last month, Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital held a Children's Day event for pediatric and adolescent patients at Gwangju Family Land together with the Korea Leukemia and Pediatric Cancer Association and Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries.
The event was attended by 202 patients and their families, and various activities such as amusement park rides, caricature drawing, and family photo sessions were held.
