On the 2nd, LG Electronics visited Amsa Rehabilitation Center located in Gangdong-gu, Seoul, to hold the 'Today is Children's Day Event.' About 70 participants, including the ‘Life’s Good Volunteer Group’ composed of LG Electronics employees who applied in advance, members of the ESG University Academy, and children and adolescents with disabilities, took part in the event.

Amsa Rehabilitation Center is a welfare facility for people with disabilities operated by the Korea Social Welfare Association, providing stable residential environments, medical care, and social rehabilitation services to children and adolescents with severe disabilities.

At this event, various activities were held to encourage active physical participation of children and adolescents with disabilities, including a small sports day, decorating personalized wheelchairs, sharing Children's Day gifts, and a special lunch. Volunteers were paired one-on-one with children and adolescents with disabilities to build bonds and enjoy a joyful time together.

In particular, this event was made more meaningful as it was funded by donations collected through the ‘Donation Menu,’ which was voluntarily supported by LG Electronics employees. The Donation Menu, started in 2011, is a discounted meal plan offered on the second Wednesday of every even-numbered month at all domestic business site cafeterias. Each time an employee selects this menu, 500 KRW is accumulated and used for volunteer activities. As of last year, over 670,000 employees have participated, and the accumulated funds have reached approximately 300 million KRW.

Huh Kyung-jae, a manager at LG Electronics’ VS Business Division who participated in the event, said, "Although it is only one day a year, I have been participating in volunteer activities since 2014 because I want to create warm and joyful memories for the children at Amsa Rehabilitation Center on Children's Day." He added, "After meeting consistently for 10 years and developing a close bond, I am deeply moved when the children greet me first saying, 'Let's meet again next year.'"

LG Electronics has maintained its relationship with Amsa Rehabilitation Center for 10 years since 2014. The company continuously supports the center in various ways, including providing special meals on occasions such as Children's Day and holidays through the ‘Life’s Good Volunteer Group,’ donating home appliances, offering education, and delivering holiday sponsorship funds. In February, LG Electronics donated the ‘CodeZero Objet Collection M9,’ a robot mop cleaner, to improve the living environment of the facility’s children and provided training on how to use it.

Additionally, LG Electronics is actively engaged in various activities for children and adolescents with disabilities under its ESG management vision, 'Better Life for All.' Since last year, it has published 'Easy-to-Read Books' to help slow learners and children with developmental disabilities use home appliances easily and safely. Since 2017, LG Electronics has also hosted the 'Global Disabled Youth IT Challenge' to enhance the information utilization skills of disabled youth and help establish a foundation for their social advancement.
