Indoor Major Renovation... Price 61.2 Million Won
General Motors (GM)'s premium brand Cadillac will launch the new version of its entry-level sport utility vehicle (SUV) XT4 in South Korea this June. The interior has been significantly improved with features such as a large 33-inch display, and the exterior has been refined.
Cadillac Korea announced that pre-orders for the 'New XT4' will begin on the 3rd. It is said that both the interior and exterior have been completely redesigned for the first time in three years since its launch in South Korea in 2021.
For the exterior, a parametric pattern grille reinterpreting Cadillac's traditional design element, the 'Chevron,' has been newly applied. The signature daytime running lights (DRL) and headlights, which are the brand's hallmark designs, have also been refined. The body sides feature dark high-gloss materials and dark roof rails, and the 20-inch alloy wheel design has been changed. The exterior colors are available in six options, including 'Emerald Lake Metallic,' 'Midnight Sky Metallic,' and 'Deep Sea Metallic.'
The interior has been greatly improved, inspired by Cadillac's first electric vehicle 'Lyriq,' which is about to be launched domestically. A 33-inch curved advanced LED display integrating the instrument cluster and infotainment screen has been installed. It supports ultra-high 9K resolution and can display over one billion colors. Individual themes that can be selected according to the occupant's preference are also provided. Wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto are supported as well.
For audio, an AKG Studio 14-speaker audio system optimized for the interior space characteristics has been installed. With 14 speakers, a wide range of audio modes can be set. The interior colors offer two options: 'Jet Black' and 'Sky Grey.' Carbon and wood materials and embroidery patterns are applied differently depending on the color.
The 'Active Safety Package,' which enhances various driving assistance functions, has also been applied. Basic features include improved front and rear automatic emergency braking, rear pedestrian warning, enhanced lane departure prevention and lane keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control that finely adjusts the distance between vehicles. Newly added features include automatic emergency braking and warnings for pedestrians and bicycles from the front and sides.
Additionally, uniquely in its class, massage seats are applied to both the first-row driver and passenger seats. An air ionizer, heated and ventilated seats for the first row, and heated seats for the second row are also standard.
The powertrain specifications include a maximum output of 238 horsepower and a maximum torque of 35.7 kgf·m. It is equipped with a 2.0L direct injection gasoline twin-scroll turbo engine and a 9-speed automatic transmission. The existing 'Active Sport Suspension' and Continuous Damping Control (CDC) have also been retained.
The 'Active Fuel Management System,' which improves fuel efficiency by deactivating some cylinders in certain driving conditions, has been improved. As a result, city fuel efficiency has improved from 8.8 km/L to 9.3 km/L, and combined fuel efficiency has improved from 10.0 km/L to 10.3 km/L.
Additionally, it supports 'Twin Clutch All-Wheel Drive,' which freely distributes driving force to all four wheels, and can be adjusted to Tour, Sport, and Snow/Ice modes.
The New XT4, launched in a single 'Sport' trim, is priced at 61.2 million KRW (based on a 5% individual consumption tax) in South Korea. More detailed information about the vehicle and pre-orders can be found on Cadillac's official website or official social network service (SNS) channels.
