In an interview with SBS Radio's 'Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show' on the 3rd, Cho responded to the host's question, "Could a report directly criticizing the president come out from the general election white paper TF?" by saying, "It will directly address all of us."
He said, "When I was assigned this task, I was asked to analyze the causes of defeat frankly and as they are," adding, "The president is not a sacred cow either."
He continued, "No member of the People Power Party can escape responsibility for the election defeat," and said, "Because there is no politics that wins over the people, I assume that the party's new leadership and the new members of the presidential office are also contemplating how to improve the party-government relationship and come up with a new direction."
When asked whether content regarding the president's state administration policy could be included in the white paper, he replied, "I have never heard of absolute opposition to any policy put forth by the presidential office," adding, "The direction itself is correct, but I think the process of implementing it and the way of communicating is what the people are urging to be improved, as if wielding a disciplinary stick."
Meanwhile, the People Power Party's general election white paper TF held its first meeting the day before and decided to conduct a survey not only of candidates but also of all party-affiliated reporters and National Assembly members' aides to evaluate the election results and prepare the white paper. The purpose is to ensure that the reflection does not end with words but leads to innovation within the People Power Party. The survey will be conducted via confidential text messages.
