Lee Woo-il, CEO of Unid, "Bye-bye Plastic"... Joining the Eco-friendly Movement

Next Candidate Named as Heo Cheolhong, CEO of GS M-Biz

Lee Woo-il, CEO of Unid and grandson of the late Lee Hoe-rim, founder of OCI, participated in the 'Bye Bye Plastic (BBP) Challenge' as part of practicing SG management.


Unid, a chemical company affiliated with OCI Group, announced on the 3rd, "We joined this campaign upon the nomination of Hong Jung-guk, Vice Chairman of BGF," adding, "CEO Lee nominated Heo Cheol-hong, CEO of GS M-Biz, as the next participant."


The Bye Bye Plastic Challenge is a nationwide relay campaign promoted by the Ministry of Environment since last year to spread good consumption habits that reduce plastic use in daily life. Participants wave both hands in photos or videos to signify "Bye," express their commitment to plastic-free practices, and nominate the next participant to post on social networking services (SNS).

CEO Lee stated, "I hope this campaign becomes an opportunity for various environmental protection activities that can be practiced in daily life to spread throughout society," and added, "Unid will continue to fulfill its social responsibilities and further strengthen sustainable ESG management strategies."


CEO Lee has been continuously making efforts for ESG management, including responding to climate change and achieving carbon neutrality. In 2021, he participated in the 'Go Go Challenge,' a campaign led by the Ministry of Environment to reduce plastic use in daily life, and has been steadily carrying out various forestry projects such as green management activities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption, and forest cultivation.
