The Smart Manufacturing Support Project helps small manufacturers automate manual manufacturing processes and adopt smart technologies to enhance competitiveness by improving productivity and quality in the rapidly changing manufacturing environment, including digital transformation.
This year, a total of 4,359 companies applied, resulting in a competition rate of 3 to 1. Selected companies will receive consulting from dedicated consultants who analyze the characteristics, conditions, levels, and capabilities of the small manufacturers' industries and provide customized solutions and improvement plans. Costs related to equipment and materials such as machinery and parts, process improvement, production management, and product development for smart technology adoption will be supported up to 42 million KRW per company.
Lee Dae-geon, Director of Small Business Policy at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, said, "Digital transformation of manufacturing processes is an important means for small manufacturers to strengthen their competitiveness," adding, "We will continue to expand support for the dissemination of smart technologies to enhance the self-sustainability of small manufacturers, including productivity and quality improvement."
