70-Year-Old Husband Arrested for Killing Wife with Blunt Object During Marital Dispute

The Seongdong Police Station in Seoul arrested a man in his 70s on the 2nd on charges of killing his wife by swinging a blunt weapon during an argument.

Shin Hyun-il, the chief judge in charge of warrants at the Seoul Eastern District Court, conducted a pre-arrest suspect interrogation (warrant review) for the man in his 70s, Mr. A, and issued an arrest warrant, citing "risk of flight."

According to the police, Mr. A is accused of hitting his wife, Ms. B, with a blunt weapon during an argument around 9 p.m. on the 29th of last month at an apartment in Eungbong-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul. Ms. B was taken to a nearby hospital but ultimately passed away.

The police responded to a report from a neighbor who heard "sounds of something being smashed" and arrested Mr. A at the scene as a suspect caught in the act.
