Incheon to Specialize and Foster Mobility Industry... 30 Billion KRW Support for 47 Companies Over 3 Years

Ministry of SMEs and Startups Regional Specialization Project 'Legend 50+' Selected

Incheon City will specialize and intensively foster the mobility industry, including logistics and autonomous driving robots.

On the 2nd, the city announced that its project, "Incheon Mobility New Technology Transition Support," was selected for the regional specialization project "Legend 50+" jointly promoted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and 17 metropolitan local governments.

Legend 50+ is a project aimed at intensively supporting local companies to increase the share of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Korean economy to over 50% by 2027. When local governments proactively plan projects aligned with regional industrial strategies, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups provides a three-year package of key policy tools with high demand from companies, such as policy funds, vouchers, smart factories, and startup-focused universities.

Incheon City will receive 30 billion KRW in national funding over the next three years to help Incheon mobility companies transition to new technologies. To this end, in January, the city recruited participants targeting logistics and autonomous driving robot companies, as well as mobility SoBuJang (materials, parts, and equipment) SMEs, selecting a total of 47 companies.

These companies can apply for and receive support in five areas: innovation and export vouchers, policy funds, startup-focused universities, and smart factory construction.

An official from Incheon City stated, "This project will serve as a driving force for the rapid growth of Incheon companies possessing new technologies in various mobility sectors that will be future growth engines," adding, "We will continue to actively support logistics, robot, and mobility SoBuJang companies to ensure the regional specialization project proceeds smoothly."
