Support for Airfare, Interpretation, and Promotion
Gyeongbuk Province is recruiting 16 startups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to participate in the Gyeongbuk joint pavilion at CES 2025, the world's largest electronics exhibition, held in Las Vegas, USA, for four days from January 7 to 10 next year, to foster a global business environment and market entry for local companies. Applications are open until the 31st.
Gyeongbuk Province will operate two exhibition halls at CES 2025: the Eureka Park Hall and the General Hall. The booth capacity is a total of 16 companies, with 8 companies in the Eureka Park Hall and 8 companies in the General Hall.
Gyeongbuk Province will support participating companies with booth and equipment installation, transportation of exhibits, airfare (2 million KRW per company), interpretation, promotional materials, CES Innovation Award consulting, and local investment briefings.
The Gyeongbuk joint pavilion has been established and operated since CES 2020, and at CES 2024 held this January, it was jointly operated with POSCO Holdings, POSTECH, and Pohang City, managing a total of 45 companies.
At CES 2024, the Gyeongbuk joint pavilion achieved its best-ever results, winning 7 Innovation Awards including 2 of the highest honors, the CES Best of Innovation Awards.
Additionally, participating companies recorded export consultation results worth 36 million USD with buyers, leading to follow-up investments and contracts.
At CES 2025 next year, Gyeongbuk Province plans to set up booths not only with local cities and counties but also jointly with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (K-Startup Pavilion).
The K-Startup Pavilion operated by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups managed a total of 96 booths at CES 2024, with 16 companies winning CES Innovation Awards.
A Gyeongbuk Province official stated, “With Gyeongbuk participating in the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ K-Startup Pavilion at CES 2025, we expect to save about 100 million KRW in budget compared to last year by receiving national funding for space securing, booth installation, consulting, and promotion. Through joint operation, we will strengthen networks among institutions and participating companies and share operational programs to greatly contribute to the success of participating companies.”
Lee Jung-woo, Director of the Metaverse Science Bureau of Gyeongbuk Province, said, “We will achieve greater results than this year through thorough preparation. We hope many capable local companies will apply.”
