Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk Province (Governor Oh Do-chang) is doing its best to stabilize prices in preparation for the upcoming ‘19th Yeongyang Wild Vegetable Festival (May 9th?12th),’ a festival that is good for both the body and the mind.

First, to eliminate overcharging, a joint inspection team led by the deputy governor has been formed to focus on checking whether sales prices have been publicly announced and whether prices per unit weight are clearly displayed for consumers to understand. Third, a street of food stalls operated directly by local residents (market merchants’ association) has been created to break the recurring problem of overpriced food at the festival. Visitors can enjoy a variety of dishes, including those made with wild vegetables, at reasonable prices.

Finally, wild vegetable quality management committee members stationed throughout the festival site will conduct real-time guidance and inspections to ensure not only fair prices but also quality control. Despite rising prices, the ‘19th Yeongyang Wild Vegetable Festival’ will offer trustworthy, high-quality wild vegetables at the same ‘fair prices’ as last year.
