Civil and Public Quality Control Committee Members, Real-Time Guidance and Inspection
Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk Province (Governor Oh Do-chang) is doing its best to stabilize prices in preparation for the upcoming ‘19th Yeongyang Wild Vegetable Festival (May 9th?12th),’ a festival that is good for both the body and the mind.
To make the ‘Yeongyang Wild Vegetable Festival,’ the healthiest festival welcoming spring, a festival that visitors want to return to, residents and Yeongyang-gun have rolled up their sleeves and prepared measures to eradicate overcharging.
First, to eliminate overcharging, a joint inspection team led by the deputy governor has been formed to focus on checking whether sales prices have been publicly announced and whether prices per unit weight are clearly displayed for consumers to understand. Violations will be strictly monitored and classified as unfair commercial practices.
Second, to actively respond to complaints, an overcharging report center has been established. This allows for immediate on-site responses to complaints arising from areas missed by the joint inspection team, providing a mechanism to resolve consumer dissatisfaction.
Third, a street of food stalls operated directly by local residents (market merchants’ association) has been created to break the recurring problem of overpriced food at the festival. Visitors can enjoy a variety of dishes, including those made with wild vegetables, at reasonable prices.
Finally, wild vegetable quality management committee members stationed throughout the festival site will conduct real-time guidance and inspections to ensure not only fair prices but also quality control. Despite rising prices, the ‘19th Yeongyang Wild Vegetable Festival’ will offer trustworthy, high-quality wild vegetables at the same ‘fair prices’ as last year.
At the Yeongsan of Yeongnam, Ilwol Mountain, visitors can pick fresh wild vegetables directly, buy them at affordable prices, and enjoy various wild vegetable dishes. We hope you find health and happiness at the once-a-year ‘Yeongyang Wild Vegetable Festival’ with its ‘fair prices.’
