Lotte Group announced on the 2nd that it held the '2024 Lotte Awards' at Lotte World Tower in Jamsil, Songpa-gu, Seoul.

At this year's Lotte Awards, eight affiliates were awarded in three fields: Sales & Marketing, Research & Development (R&D), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Digital Transformation (DX). The grand prize went to Lotte Department Store for successfully opening Lotte Mall Westlake Hanoi.

Lotte held the '2024 Lotte Awards' on the 2nd at Lotte World Tower to celebrate and share the achievements of creating customer value through challenge and innovation spirit over the past year. Now in its fourth year, the Lotte Awards recognize the achievements of employees who have continuously challenged themselves in various fields. The final winning teams are selected through document screening and presentations (PT) by internal and external judges.

Notably, this year, a new AI & DX category was established to honor teams that have created new customer value through rapid digital transformation. Lotte GRS’s AI Burger Song, Lotte Construction’s AI-based safety monitoring technology, and Lotte Central Research Institute’s introduction of sensory analysis equipment won the top prize in the newly established AI & DX category.

Shin Dong-bin, Chairman of Lotte, personally presented the awards and encouraged the winners. Chairman Shin said, "The achievements, strengthened by innovation and bold ideas combined with strong execution, have elevated the group’s competitiveness to a higher level. Please continue to strive for sustainable growth without resting on past successes."

This year’s grand prize was awarded to Lotte Department Store. Over approximately five years, Lotte Department Store led a project that mobilized the group’s capabilities in distribution, construction, hotels, and more, enhancing the group’s status both domestically and internationally. Lotte Mall Westlake Hanoi, which opened in September last year, surpassed 100 billion KRW in cumulative sales within 122 days of opening and recorded 6 million cumulative visitors as of last month, emerging as a local landmark in Vietnam.

Meanwhile, this year’s Lotte Awards also featured the voice of Shin Kyuk-ho, the founder of Lotte Group. The encouragement message delivered in the founder’s voice, restored using AI technology, conveyed a message urging employees to continue pursuing challenges and innovation.
