Korea Roche Appoints Ejat Azem as New CEO

Korea Roche, the Korean subsidiary of Roche Group's pharmaceutical business division, announced on the 2nd that it has appointed Ejaz Azem as the new CEO effective from the 1st.

CEO Azem joined Roche Group's Israel branch in 1997 and has contributed to the launch and growth of key products as a marketing business leader in several countries including Romania and Slovenia over the past 27 years. Recently, he served as the CEO of Roche Greece since 2019. Azem has been recognized for his leadership and expertise in driving strategic portfolio expansion in areas such as oncology, hematologic malignancies, and specialty care. Additionally, during his tenure at the Greece branch, he improved patient access to new drugs by securing reimbursement listings for eight pharmaceuticals.


CEO Azem graduated from the Hebrew University Medical School in Jerusalem, Israel, and later earned an MBA from Tel Aviv University. He has also completed special training programs at INSEAD Business School in France and London Business School (LBS) in the UK.


CEO Azem said, “I am pleased to start working in Korea, which has an excellent healthcare environment,” and added, “Based on my diverse experiences, I will contribute to Korean patients through Roche’s innovative new drugs and precise personalized treatment implementation.”
