Kakao announced on the 2nd that it will newly open a popular wine and whiskey pickup gift service on KakaoTalk Gift. From now on, users can easily purchase and gift over 300 types of alcoholic beverages including wine, whiskey, vodka, rum, and tequila on KakaoTalk Gift, and pick them up at their desired store on their preferred date.
Kakao and GS Retail signed a 'strategic partnership for online-offline linked services' last year and have been preparing services that connect both companies' channels. As the first project to enhance customer shopping convenience, they are launching the alcohol pickup service.
The two companies combine KakaoTalk Gift's situational product recommendation expertise with Wine25Plus's alcohol purchase data to recommend customized alcoholic beverages to customers. Gift users can receive differentiated services such as popular wine and whiskey recommendations by price range, sophisticated wines and whiskeys expressing gratitude, and single malt whiskey recommendations for friends new to whiskey.
Additionally, alcoholic beverages purchased through Gift can be picked up on the desired date at more than 18,000 GS Retail offline stores nationwide, including convenience stores 'GS25' and supermarkets 'GS The Fresh.'
