Access to Gyeonggi Provincial Government Office Made Easier... Introduction of 'Smart Visitor System'

Access to Gyeonggi Provincial Government Office Made Easier... Introduction of 'Smart Visitor System' Text entry pass for external visitors implemented by Gyeonggi Province starting May 1

Gyeonggi Province has introduced a text-based entry pass and QR code authentication system starting this month to alleviate the inconvenience of entry registration for attendees visiting the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Office in Suwon for various committees, meetings, and province-hosted events.

Previously, visitors had to leave their ID at the first-floor information desk and receive a physical entry pass to gain access.

The new text entry pass system allows committee or meeting attendees to present a text entry pass received in advance on their mobile phones to immediately pass through the gate. Additionally, for meetings where beverages are provided, attendees can select their drink menu via the text entry pass.

Starting from the 1st, Gyeonggi Province implemented the text entry pass and plans to introduce a ‘Smart Visitor System’ using QR codes within this month.

Unlike the text entry pass, this system authenticates visitors by scanning a pre-issued QR code. The QR code authentication method issues a QR code certificate once the meeting or event organizer confirms the attendees in advance.

Moreover, Gyeonggi Province plans to simplify entry not only for meeting, committee, and event attendees but also for visitors to specific departments by allowing them to apply for visits in advance through the system, after which the relevant staff will verify and issue a QR code certificate.

The introduction of this Smart Visitor System follows the directive of Governor Kim Dong-yeon of Gyeonggi Province.

Governor Kim Dong-yeon attended the Population Talk Talk Committee meeting held at the provincial government office on the 25th of last month and said, "I saw people standing in a long line waiting to attend the committee. They came to help, so they should be able to enter immediately. Please make sure there is no inconvenience," urging improvements.

Gyeonggi Province will continue to improve entry procedures to enhance the convenience of visitors to the provincial government office.
