3457㎡ in Yeongdeok-dong... Providing Technical Education and Management Consulting
Also Hosting 'Digital Trade Support Center' to Strengthen Export Capabilities
Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 2nd that it will establish a 'Small Business and Startup Hub' to provide customized support for system semiconductor and artificial intelligence (AI) startups.
The Small Business and Startup Hub, which will be built on four floors above ground with a total floor area of 3,457㎡ in a facility donated by a private rental housing developer in Yeongdeok-dong, Giheung-gu, is scheduled to open in July.

The city will move away from the existing startup support center operation model focused on space provision and instead offer tailored support to system semiconductor and AI startup companies. To this end, it will collaborate with external specialized institutions to support the startups' establishment and growth. The Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) will be responsible for research and development and technical education through the operation of a joint system semiconductor lab, while an accelerator (AC) will be stationed on-site to provide management consulting.
Support for expanding export infrastructure will also be provided. The city has attracted the 'Digital Trade Comprehensive Support Center (deXter)' here, which will be jointly operated with KOTRA. Export companies in the region will receive assistance with product studio photography, digital marketing, and buyer consultations.
The city plans to consolidate shared equipment currently dispersed across the Yongin Industry Promotion Agency headquarters, Heungdeok Small Business Specialized Support Center, and Dongbaek Startup Support Center into this hub, designing it as a lounge-style 'Yongin-type co-working space.' Companies will be able to use general equipment such as 3D printers and laser cutters, as well as specialized equipment like 3D scanners and network analyzers, through prior reservation.
A city official stated, "The newly established ‘Small Business and Startup Hub’ will operate as an institution that comprehensively supports strategic industries through cooperation with external specialized organizations."
