Geumcheon-gu Hosts Children's Grand Festival 'Chinguya No~olja!'

Children's Day Event on the 5th from 10 AM to 3 PM at Geumcheon Sports Park
Full of various hands-on activities, talent shows, flea markets, and abundant fun and entertainment

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) will hold the Geumcheon Children's Grand Festival "Friend, Let's Play!" at Geumcheon Sports Park in Doksan-dong from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the 5th, Children's Day.

The preparatory committee, composed of over 50 civic groups in the area, has carefully prepared the Children's Day event with the hope that children will have an enjoyable day.

At the event, various programs full of fun activities and attractions will be held, starting with the reading of the "United Nations (UN) Convention on the Rights of the Child" by elementary school students in the region.

Twenty-eight experience booths will be set up throughout the event site, where children can enjoy diverse hands-on activities such as making mini rice balls, crafting cast soap, experiencing voice acting and announcing, making pine cone humidifiers, watching puppet shows, and trying Nanta drumming. In the play yard, families can enjoy activities like stacking water bottles, flipping boards, shoe throwing, catching beanbags, and ankle jump rope.

Additionally, the main stars of the day, the children, can participate in the "Children's Flea Market" where they buy and sell items, as well as a talent show where they can freely showcase their skills and talents. Only children who have applied in advance can sell items at the "Children's Flea Market," while those who want to participate in the talent show can register on-site.

At the end of the event, children and their families will engage in a trash-picking game. Children who pick up trash around them will be given Children's Day gifts such as school supplies.

Mayor Yu Seong-hoon said, "On Children's Day, I hope children create happy memories laughing and enjoying time with their families," and added, "We will do our best to make Geumcheon a child-friendly city where all children in the district are happy."
