Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) established the ‘Gongdeok Silppuri Welfare Center’ within the local convenience facilities of Gongdeok Cross City Happy Housing in Gongdeok-dong and held an opening ceremony on April 29.

The ‘Silppuri Welfare Center’ is a unique regional hub complex facility in Mapo-gu designed to deliver finely tailored welfare services to residents, like delicate thread roots. The ‘Gongdeok Silppuri Welfare Center’ is the first of its kind to come closer to the residents.

The total exclusive area of the ‘Gongdeok Silppuri Welfare Center’ is approximately 1,275㎡, combining the first floor above ground and the first basement floor. The above-ground floor houses the ‘Anyone Companion House,’ while the basement includes the ‘Anyone Cultural Creation Studio,’ ‘Filial Piety Meal Senior Center,’ and ‘Fitness Center.’

The ‘Anyone Companion House’ is a specialized daytime care facility for people with disabilities, designed to reduce the caregiving burden on families with disabled members. Facility improvements were made to create a spacious and comfortable environment for the convenience of disabled users.

Additionally, Mapo-gu has prepared the ‘Anyone Cultural Creation Studio’ to enhance cultural and artistic accessibility for people with disabilities. Through this, proactive and preemptive support for cultural and artistic education for the disabled will be provided. Furthermore, art education programs involving both disabled and non-disabled participants are planned to break down barriers of disability and foster a daily life where everyone advances together as members of the local community, aiming to improve awareness of disabilities.

At the ‘Filial Piety Meal Senior Center,’ lunch is prepared using food cooked at the ‘Filial Piety Meal Side Dish Factory’ for seniors aged 75 and older. The center provides a one-stop service to check on seniors’ health, rest, and well-being, overseeing their daily lives comprehensively.

Moreover, the ‘Fitness Center’ offers various physical programs such as health programs, small equipment Pilates, and yoga, enabling people of all ages and genders to enjoy a vibrant daily life 365 days a year.

Mapo-gu plans to build the Mapo-style care model ‘Silppuri Welfare Center,’ an integrated welfare center centered on residents that anyone?including children, adolescents, seniors, and people with disabilities?can use, aiming for a ‘one center per neighborhood’ goal to establish a detailed welfare delivery system.

Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, stated, “The Silppuri Welfare Centers to be established throughout Mapo-gu are more than just facilities; they are hubs that realize integrated welfare deeply embedded in residents’ lives.” He added, “Mapo-gu will do its utmost to ensure that the Silppuri Welfare Centers become precious spaces that beautifully weave together the daily lives and well-being of our residents.”
