Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is operating the 'Gwangjin Climate Environment School' to raise awareness of the importance of environmental protection and to practice environmental education in daily life.

The education is conducted at the Gwangjin Environmental Education Center, which opened last March. The district signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korea Climate Environment Institute to promote environmental education more systematically.

The Climate Environment School will be operated until July for Gwangjin residents who applied in advance. Education will be conducted once a month combining theory and practice, featuring various programs such as ▲ lectures by prominent figures in the environmental field ▲ making eco-friendly household products.

Meanwhile, the first class was held on the 27th of last month. Trainees listened to a lecture titled 'Recognizing the Seriousness of the Climate Crisis' by Jeon Ui-chan, president of the Korea Climate Environment Institute, and learned practical ways to protect the environment by making eco-friendly solid shampoo and toothpaste.

Kim Kyung-ho, mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “We operate the Climate Environment School to solve the imminent environmental problems,” and added, “Gwangjin-gu will continue to do its best to communicate with the local community and prepare sustainable environmental management plans together with residents.”
