On the afternoon of the 1st, Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, visited the Mapo Art Center, where the 'Heartfelt Mapo Filial Piety Concert' was held, to express his gratitude to the elderly residents in the area.
To promote respect for the elderly and the practice of filial piety, this event, hosted and organized by Mapo District and the Senior Medical Sharing Foundation, was attended by over 1,000 local seniors.
Hosted by popular MC Jo Young-gu, the event began with education on the prevention of geriatric diseases and health exercises. This was followed by a choir performance of the theme song for the Filial Piety Table, a thank-you speech by Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, and a commemorative photo session.
In his greeting, Mayor Park said, “I believe a good country is one where the elderly, who have devoted their lives to their families and the nation, are respected and can live happily.” He added, “Mapo District is implementing various ‘filial piety administrations’ so that seniors can enjoy their lives filled with filial devotion 365 days a year in Mapo. I hope you will watch over us with affection.”
In the following performances, famous popular singers Kim Seong-hwan, Kim Sang-bae, Hyun-sook, and Han Ga-bin participated, delivering wonderful stages that gave the elderly unforgettable memories and joy.
