On the 1st, their agency ADOR released a teaser for NewJeans' new song "Right Now" on the HYBE Labels YouTube channel. This track is included in their Japanese debut single album "Supernatural," set to be released on June 21.

The teaser begins with the "NewJeans x Powerpuff Girls" characters introduced in their previous album "Get Up." The five members, on a quest for a love potion, discover the "Rainbow Flower" and unleash supernatural powers. During this process, an unknown glitch causes two worlds to collide, introducing the "NewJeans x Murakami" characters.

Although this character, born from the charming appeal of NewJeans and Takashi Murakami's iconic "Rainbow Flower," appears briefly at the end of the teaser, it left a strong impression.

Takashi Murakami, a pop artist selected as one of Time magazine's 100 most influential people in the world, is Japan's most beloved contemporary artist. Known for his unique and imaginative works and his signature flower character, he has collaborated with fashion brands and global pop stars like Billie Eilish, making him a familiar figure to the public.

On the same day, CEO Min Hee-jin personally promoted the collaboration by sharing photos of working with Takashi Murakami on her SNS. She also released a video showing Murakami sketching characters modeled after the NewJeans members.

Fans are already excited about the collaboration between NewJeans and the versatile Takashi Murakami. ADOR explained, "Murakami, who has openly expressed his fandom for NewJeans in interviews, participating in NewJeans' Japanese debut album makes this collaboration even more meaningful."

Previously, NewJeans proved themselves as icons leading popular culture worldwide by targeting Gen Z's tastes through collaborations such as with the famous American animation "Powerpuff Girls" and now with Takashi Murakami.

NewJeans' Japanese debut single "Supernatural" includes four tracks: the title track "Supernatural," the song "Right Now," and instrumental versions of each. Album pre-orders will begin at 11 a.m. on the 10th.

NewJeans is currently engaged in a large-scale collaboration with the major Tokyo shopping mall Shibuya109. A pop-up store opened on the 26th of last month, and on April 30, a large photo of NewJeans was displayed on the exterior wall of the Shibuya109 building. Following the release of their Japanese debut single on June 21, NewJeans will hold a large-scale fan meeting at Tokyo Dome on June 26 and 27.

Before their Japanese debut in June, NewJeans will make a comeback in Korea on the 24th. The music video for "Bubble Gum," a track from the double single "How Sweet" released on the 27th of last month, has been praised for its refreshing visuals and surpassed 17.84 million views on YouTube as of 10 a.m. on the 1st.
