A festival of harmony for the residents of Sanpo-myeon, Naju-si, Jeollanam-do, and expatriate hometown friends was held for the first time in five years.
Sanpo-myeon announced on the 30th that it held the 27th Sanpo-myeon Residents' Day event on the 27th at the Nuri Hall of the Jeollanam-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services.
About 1,000 people, including Mayor Yoon Byung-tae, National Assemblyman Shin Jeong-hoon, residents, and hometown friends, attended the Residents' Day event held for the first time in five years since COVID-19.
The first part of the commemorative ceremony began with pre-event performances such as Gogo Janggu, Sanpo Golden Choir, and Sanpo Nonghyup Line Dance, followed by awards in various fields including contributions to city administration development, longevity, filial piety, and good deeds, and then commemorative and congratulatory speeches.
In the second part, various celebratory programs such as village lunch parties, sports events, invited singer performances, residents' singing contests, and lucky draw raffles were held to enhance the atmosphere of harmony.
The awards for contributions to city administration development through hometown love were given to Han Jeong-hwan (Deungjeong 1-gu) and Jeong Young-nim (Sanje).
The longevity awards wishing for good health and long life were awarded to Kim Pan-am (Naegi 2-gu), Kang Han-seok (Songnim), Kang Jong-geum (Deongnye 1-gu), and Lee Seong-sun (Deongnye 3-gu), respectively.
The filial piety awards, given to those who have become role models in the local community through sincere filial devotion, were awarded to Kim Dong-gyu (Sindo 2-gu) and Kim Min-ja (Sanje), and the couple Yoon Yeo-il and Lee Ji-young, who have practiced family harmony, shared the joy of receiving the Mandarin Duck Award.
In addition, Seo Woo-yeol (Naegi 1-gu) and Kang Min-ju (Hwaji) received the 'Farmer Award,' students Go San (Deungsu 1-gu) and Lee Eliya (Deungjeong 2-gu) received the 'Good Deeds Award,' and Kim Sang-bae (Deungjeong 3-gu) and Choi Bok-dong (Nampyeong) received plaques of appreciation.
Nam Yoon-taek, Chairman of the Sanpo-myeon Residents' Day Promotion Committee, said, "I thank the institutions and social organizations that actively cooperated in preparing the event and everyone who generously supported it," adding, "As this event was held for the first time in five years, I am glad it became an opportunity for residents to communicate and unite more."
Lee Jae-deok, head of Sanpo-myeon, said, "I thank all the distinguished guests and residents who made the precious trip for the event," and added, "I will work even harder for the development of Sanpo-myeon as much as the residents' passionate love for their hometown and desire to develop it."
