Thought I Was Late Because I Turned It Off Half-Asleep... But My iPhone Really Didn't Ring the Morning Alarm

Some iPhone Alarms Not Ringing... Complaints Surge
"Apple Identifies Issue and Takes Action to Resolve"

An error causing alarms not to ring on some iPhones has been discovered, and Apple is reportedly working to fix it.

On the 30th of last month (local time), foreign media such as The Wall Street Journal and Forbes reported that "Apple has identified the issue of alarms not ringing on some iPhones and is working on a solution."

Recently, content about the iPhone alarm error has repeatedly surfaced on social networking services (SNS), sparking controversy. As consumer complaints continued, Apple took action to address the issue. It is especially known that alarms often do not ring if previously set alarms are left unchanged.

The U.S. IT media outlet The Verge advised, "To fix this issue, check that the ringtone and alert volume slider is turned on in the Sounds & Haptics section of the iPhone settings." It also reported that "some users on TikTok said turning off the 'Attention Aware Features' in 'Face ID & Passcode' helped." However, The Verge added that Apple did not respond to inquiries about this issue.

The iPhone alarm error problem has occurred in the past as well. In 2011, the alarm function built into the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 malfunctioned abnormally on January 1 and 2, the first days of the new year, due to an operating system error worldwide.

At that time, major foreign media reported that "many iPhone users were late for work or missed transportation as their iPhone alarms did not ring, causing widespread inconvenience."
