Hwaseong City announced on the 1st that the 'Hwaseong Yeondeung Music Festival,' hosted and organized by the Hwaseong City Buddhist Temple Association, will take place on the 4th at Jeongjo Hyogong Park in Annyeong-dong. This event is a festival that blends traditional culture and music, based on the 'Yeondeunghoe,' which is designated as National Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 122 and registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The event, starting at 2 p.m., will feature experience booths such as lotus flower making and preliminary performances, followed by the Yeondeung Concert at 7 p.m. with appearances by singer Lee Eun-mi and pansori singer Jang Sa-ik.

In particular, the Yeondeung parade, held from 6 p.m., will have citizens walking together along a 1.4 km route from Yongjusa Temple to Jeongjo Hyogong Park, illuminating the streets with the light of Yeondeung lanterns.

Jung Myung-geun, mayor of Hwaseong City, said, "Through the Yeondeung Festival, we will continue to preserve our unique intangible cultural heritage and traditional culture."
