Seongbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) is issuing the ‘Seongbuk Love Gift Certificate’ in celebration of Family Month. To support the coexistence of small business owners and residents struggling with high inflation and high interest rates, the second issuance of the ‘Seongbuk Love Gift Certificate’ will be fully funded by the district without any national or city subsidies.
The issuance date and time is May 7 at 1 PM, with a total issuance amount of 20 billion KRW. The gift certificate offers a 5% discount rate, with a maximum purchase limit of 500,000 KRW per person and a holding limit of 1.5 million KRW. It can be used at Seongbuk Love Gift Certificate affiliated stores within Seongbuk-gu. The first issuance during the Lunar New Year in January sold out within three minutes of sales opening, demonstrating explosive response and high demand from residents.
Starting this month, the purchase platform will be consolidated from the previous five apps into a single app, Seoul Pay Plus. With the launch of the new Seoul Pay Plus app, users must update their existing app according to the instructions or install the new app via the app store search. The new Seoul Pay Plus app offers improved features such as expanded card company options for purchases, the ability to pay with both district and metropolitan gift certificates together, and immediate restoration of gift certificates after payment cancellations.
Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, stated, “In celebration of Family Month in May, we have made efforts to issue as many Seongbuk Love Gift Certificates as possible to overcome residents’ reduced consumer sentiment due to rising consumer prices and to increase sales for our local small business owners.” He added, “We hope that increased use of the Seongbuk Love Gift Certificate will bring bright smiles to the faces of residents and small business owners alike.”
