Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Tentatively Named Daejeon Tanbang Elementary Yongmun Branch New Construction Held on the 30th of Last Month / Seo-gu

On the 30th of last month, Seo-gu, Daejeon held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the (tentatively named) Daejeon Tanbang Elementary School Yongmun Branch, attended by about 50 people including city and district council members, the superintendent of education, union members, and residents.

The Daejeon Tanbang Elementary School Yongmun Branch will be built on school land within the Yongmun-dong 1, 2, and 3 district redevelopment area. It will have 15 classes, with one basement floor and three above-ground floors, covering a total floor area of 7,312.17㎡. Construction is scheduled to be completed by May 2025.

Seo Cheol-mo, the district head, stated, “Amid recent difficulties in establishing new elementary schools due to the declining school-age population, the establishment of the Yongmun Branch is a result of the continuous efforts and interest of local residents for new schools.” He added, “We will do our best to ensure thorough safety management around the construction site so that the project can be successfully completed.”
