Purchases available at a 5% discount from 2 PM on May 7... Up to 500,000 KRW per person per month, total holding limit up to 1,500,000 KRW
Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Il-ha) announced that it will issue 'Dongjak Love Gift Certificates' worth 15 billion KRW starting from 2 PM on the 7th.
The district first issued 4 billion KRW worth of gift certificates ahead of the Lunar New Year in January, and now, to meet the high demand for gifts during May, the month of family, it will issue a second batch worth 15 billion KRW.
The Dongjak Love Gift Certificates issued this time can be purchased at a 5% discount, with a maximum purchase limit of 500,000 KRW per person and a total holding limit of 1,500,000 KRW.
The gift certificates can be purchased through the newly launched dedicated app 'Seoul Pay Plus' as of the 22nd of last month. The payment methods, which were previously limited to open banking (cash) and one type of card (Shinhan Card), have been diversified to allow the use of nine types of cards including Hana, Samsung, Kookmin, and Hyundai.
Additionally, it is now possible to combine and pay with two or more types of gift certificates (such as metropolitan and local gift certificates), and payment cancellations are reflected immediately, improving functionality and enhancing user convenience compared to before.
Purchased gift certificates can be used at about 8,500 Seoul Pay affiliated stores within the district, including large supermarkets, traditional markets, academies, and restaurants. The validity period is five years from the date of purchase.
Unused gift certificates can be canceled regardless of the period, and if more than 60% has been used, the remaining balance excluding the discount amount can be refunded.
Consumers can receive a 30% income deduction benefit during year-end tax settlement when using Dongjak Love Gift Certificates, and affiliated stores are exempt from payment fees, greatly contributing to revitalizing the local economy.
For further inquiries, customers can contact the Seoul Pay+ customer center or the Economic Policy Division of Dongjak-gu Office by phone.
Park Il-ha, Mayor of Dongjak-gu, said, “Through the issuance of the Dongjak Love Gift Certificates, we will reduce the financial burden on residents and increase sales for small business owners to establish a virtuous cycle in the local economy.” He added, “We will continue to implement multifaceted policies to provide practical support to all residents, including small business owners.”
