Record Highest Export Amount Achieved
Export Growth Award Victory
Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, received the Gyeongnam Province Agricultural and Marine Products Export Tower Institutional Award.
On the 1st, Sancheong-gun announced that it received the Export Growth Award in the evaluation of excellent agricultural product export cities and counties at the ‘28th Gyeongsangnam-do Agricultural and Marine Products Export Tower Awards Ceremony’ held at Changwon Convention Center (CECO).
Sancheong-gun has set a record high export target of 10 million USD to improve the export performance of agricultural specialty products and has been striving to pioneer new overseas markets in connection with the Sancheong-gun Export Association.

In particular, aggressive promotional events were conducted both online and offline, resulting in sales of 150,965,000 KRW for 25 items from 10 companies through the largest online shopping malls in the U.S., Cconnmausa, MissyUSA, and Seoulmills.
Additionally, four companies (15 items) participated in the LA Korean Festival Agricultural and Marine Products Expo, selling 56,440,000 KRW, and in an online promotion event in Virginia, USA, sales reached 56,440,000 KRW (10 companies, 42 items).
Moreover, in December last year, for the first time in Korea, preservation technology was applied to export strawberries, exporting 725 kg of Geumsil, Snowberry, and Seolhyang varieties to Middle Eastern countries (United Arab Emirates).
Thanks to these achievements, a record-high export amount of 11.706 million USD was achieved last year in fresh agricultural products, processed foods, livestock products, and forest products.
In March, 360 kg of Janghee strawberries were exported to Guam in the Americas region, and the use of preservation technology has enabled fresher strawberries to be enjoyed for a longer time, strengthening strawberry competitiveness and supporting farmers' income and exports.
Furthermore, Sancheong-gun has allocated 50 million KRW as a new project budget for overseas market development events for excellent agricultural and food products from Sancheong, supporting export farmers' participation in overseas exhibitions and consultation meetings.
An official from the county stated, “We will continue to put all our efforts into increasing exports through aggressive new overseas market development activities, hosting export consultation meetings by inviting overseas buyers, developing products and packaging design to diversify export products, and more. We will strive even harder to promote Sancheong-gun’s excellent agricultural specialty products in overseas markets.”
