This Summer's Home Appliance Demand Up 20% YoY
Lotte Hi-Mart Hosts 'Cooling Appliance Festa'
Up to 300,000 KRW Benefits Including Cashback and Mobile Gift Cards
Lotte Hi-Mart announced on the 1st that it will hold a 'Cooling Home Appliances Festa' throughout May in response to the rising temperatures.
According to Lotte Hi-Mart, as early summer weather continues with temperatures in Seoul reaching up to 28.9 degrees Celsius on the 28th of last month, more customers are purchasing summer appliances such as air conditioners and fans in advance. Over the past two weeks (April 16 to 29), demand for air conditioners at Lotte Hi-Mart increased by about 20% compared to the same period last year. During the same period, demand for fans and circulators rose by 40% and 45%, respectively.
During the 'Early Purchase of Cooling Appliances' event, customers who purchase popular 2-in-1 air conditioner promotional products such as LG Electronics' 'Whisen Objet Collection Tower' and Samsung Electronics' 'Bespoke Wind-Free Air Conditioner Gallery' will receive up to 200,000 KRW in Lotte mobile gift certificates. For other 2-in-1 air conditioner promotional products, customers will receive a fan from the private brand (PB) 'Hi-Made'.
Cashback benefits are also offered. When purchasing Samsung Electronics system air conditioner promotional products with Lotte affiliated cards, Shinhan cards, and other event cards, customers can receive up to 300,000 KRW cashback. Additionally, purchasing the Cuckoo 'Inspure Air Circulator' promotional product grants a 30,000 KRW mobile gift certificate.
Furthermore, starting in May, special discount products called 'Amazing Special Items' will offer simultaneous purchase benefits. Customers who purchase these promotional products will receive up to 200,000 KRW in mobile gift certificates, and purchasing two or more Amazing Special Items simultaneously will grant an additional mobile gift certificate worth up to 100,000 KRW. Moreover, the company plans to continuously introduce cost-effective PB 'Hi-Made' products to reduce the price burden of purchasing home appliances.
In celebration of Family Month in May, items suitable for gifting will also be discounted. For example, massage chairs, popular gifts for Parents' Day, will come with up to 200,000 KRW in mobile gift certificates upon purchase. For Children's Day gifts, high-demand IT appliances such as mobile phones, laptops, and gaming devices will also come with mobile gift certificates worth up to 100,000 KRW.
Kim Seung-geun, head of marketing planning at Lotte Hi-Mart, said, "Since May is expected to involve many expenses due to various family events, we have prepared various benefits such as mobile gift certificates and cashback focused on high-demand products in May. We hope customers will explore a variety of summer and gift home appliances from domestic to foreign brands and make reasonable purchases."
