Seodaemun-gu Issues Total 8 Billion Won in Traditional Market and Sinchon-Edae Gift Certificates with 5% Discount...

Seodaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seong-heon) announced on the 30th that a total of 8 billion KRW worth of ‘Sinchon-Ewha Love Gift Certificates’ and ‘Seodaemun Traditional Market Love Gift Certificates,’ which are issued by the district itself, will be sold online at a 5% discount through the ‘Seoul Pay Plus’ app starting from 3 PM on the 8th of next month.

The ‘Sinchon-Ewha Love Gift Certificates,’ issued to revitalize the Sinchon and Ewha area commercial districts and increase sales for small business owners, can be used at Seodaemun Love Gift Certificate affiliated stores within Sinchon-dong, with an issuance scale of 3 billion KRW.

The ‘Seodaemun Traditional Market Love Gift Certificates,’ issued for the first time to revitalize traditional markets, can be used at Seodaemun Love Gift Certificate affiliated stores located in Inwang Market, Yujin Arcade, Baekryeon Market, Pobangteo Market, and Yeongcheon Market, which are in Hong Eun 1-2 dong, Hongje 1-3 dong, Namgajwa 1-2 dong, and Cheonyeon-dong. The issuance scale is 5 billion KRW.

Anyone can purchase up to 500,000 KRW (based on the gift certificate amount) per month for each of the two gift certificates. The holding limit is 1.5 million KRW for each gift certificate. The usage period for the gift certificates is one year from the date of purchase, and unused amounts can be fully refunded.

Sales are on a first-come, first-served basis. The sales end date for both gift certificates is December 10 of this year, but if sold out earlier, purchases will no longer be possible. Additionally, these gift certificates cannot be used at large stores, gambling-related businesses, or private academies with annual sales exceeding 3 billion KRW.

Businesses wishing to handle the gift certificates can apply for affiliation through the Seoul Pay Plus application or the Seoul Pay Call Center.
