Gangnam-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) announced that it signed a friendship agreement with Yanggu-gun, Gangwon-do at Yanggu-gun Office on the 30th.


Yanggu-gun, Gangwon-do, located at the geographic center of South Korea, is a military strategic point near the DMZ border area and a natural ecological city with well-established cultural and artistic infrastructure such as the Park Soo-keun Art Museum and Yanggu Baekja Museum.


Through the agreement, Gangnam-gu will benefit from security education and ecological and cultural tourism sites, while Yanggu-gun will enjoy benefits such as participation in direct trade markets for agricultural and specialty products and discounts on Gangnam Ingang.


The two local governments plan to continue exchanging in various fields such as economy, education, culture, tourism, and sports, and to discover cooperative projects on mutual interests.


Mayor Jo Seong-myeong stated, “We will closely cooperate and exchange in various fields with Yanggu-gun, which has excellent infrastructure and tourism resources,” and added, “The two local governments will grow together and lead the development of the Republic of Korea.”
