Passenger with Both Legs 'Tuk' on Front Seat of Express Bus
Waving Legs in the Air Then Placing Them on Front Seat
Does Not Lower Legs Until Arrival in Daegu
A story about a 'troublesome passenger' who put their feet on the front bus seat has sparked public outrage.
On the 30th, an online community post titled "The worst villain ever boarded my bus" was uploaded. As of 2 p.m. that day, the post had garnered 44,600 views and over 1,000 likes, becoming a major topic of discussion. The author, Mr. A, a bus driver, began by saying, "I operated a bus that departed from the Express Bus Terminal early in the morning and just arrived at Dongdaegu Station."
Mr. A explained the situation, saying, "Throughout the highway drive, the passenger’s legs reflected in the interior rearview mirror caught my attention. One leg was stretched straight up into the air and danced side to side in that position. I had no way to stop it, so we arrived at Seonsan Rest Area like that." The photo Mr. A shared shows a passenger wearing white socks, barefoot, stretching their leg in the air and moving it around. They even rested their foot on the front seat.
Mr. A recalled the awkward moment, saying, "I thought they would stop once they woke up at the rest area, but after leaving West Daegu and stopping at a traffic light, I looked closely in the rearview mirror and saw that this time both legs were resting on the headrest of the front seat." He added, "There was no passenger in the seat right in front, but there was another passenger two rows ahead." He continued, "After arriving at Dongdaegu, I hesitated whether to say something, but I remembered the saying that people can’t be changed, so I just looked at them. The passenger was a young man in his twenties, and I hope he corrects the habit of putting his legs on the front seat on express buses."
Netizens who read the story responded with comments such as, "Don’t schools teach public manners and etiquette these days?", "What if the bus suddenly brakes?", "Someone I wouldn’t want around," and "I want to slap the soles of his feet." A netizen B, who is a current bus driver, said, "Whether complaints come in or not, I speak up openly. Customers should behave like customers to be treated well. I can’t stand seeing people causing trouble for others."
Meanwhile, this is not the first case of someone taking off their shoes and putting their feet on the front seat in a public place. On the 25th, a group of men and women caused controversy by putting their bare feet on the front seat inside a movie theater in Busan. The author, Mr. C, who publicized the situation, said, "I went to watch The Outlaws 4, and they were boldly putting their feet on the front seat."
