Haenam-gun, Recruiting Trainees for Return-to-Farming and Return-to-Village Residential Support Center Education Program

8-Month Haenam Living Experience and Integrated One-Stop Farming Education Offered, Applications Open Until the 7th

Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Myung Hyun-kwan) is recruiting trainees for the Return-to-Farming and Return-to-Village Residential Support Center until the 7th of next month.

According to the county on the 30th, the Residential Support Center, which opened in August 2022, is a one-stop educational facility integrating living spaces and educational facilities. It supports urban residents wishing to return to farming or villages and early returnees who have relocated to Haenam-gun in their stable settlement in rural areas.

Last year, the first group of trainees moved in, and 10 out of 20 settled in Haenam-gun, marking a successful first step.

The second session will operate for a total of eight months from June this year to January next year. Trainees will live in detached houses within the center and receive a total of 90 hours of diverse and systematic education, including basic farming theory, farming practice, visits to outstanding senior returnee farms, and learning about our county.

The recruitment target is 17 households of prospective return-to-farming, return-to-village, or return-to-hometown individuals wishing to settle in Haenam-gun, or early returnees within two years of moving in. Selection will be made through first-round document screening and second-round interviews.

The main facilities of the Residential Support Center include 17 detached houses, a fitness room, club rooms, a reading room for the convenience and social interaction of trainees, as well as facility houses and a communal practice farm where farming practice experiences and education can be received.

The facility usage fee ranges from a deposit of 800,000 to 1,000,000 KRW and a monthly fee of 120,000 to 150,000 KRW depending on the house area. Electricity and gas charges are paid directly by the trainees to the Korea Electric Power Corporation and gas suppliers based on usage.

For more details, refer to the announcements on the Haenam-gun Return-to-Farming and Return-to-Village Hope Center website or contact the Return-to-Farming and Return-to-Village Team at the Haenam-gun Agricultural Technology Center. Application documents can be submitted by visiting or mailing to the Haenam-gun Return-to-Farming and Fishing Residential Support Center.

A county official said, “We will continue to develop unique educational programs exclusive to Haenam-gun and strive to expand facilities by securing additional houses and practice farmland so that the Haenam-gun Return-to-Farming and Fishing Residential Support Center can establish itself as an essential introductory course for prospective return-to-farming and return-to-village individuals.”
