Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is recruiting new subscribers for the ‘Youth Tomorrow Savings Account’ from May 1 to 21 to help economically struggling young people save a lump sum and start their social life with confidence.
The ‘Youth Tomorrow Savings Account’ is an asset-building support program for △young people aged 19 to 34 who are working at the time of application △those with earned income or business income exceeding 500,000 KRW and up to 2,300,000 KRW per month △household income recognized for the young person’s household is at or below 100% of the median income.
In particular, young people aged 15 to 39 who are basic livelihood security recipients or belong to the near-poverty class with income can join depending on the need for additional support.
Subscribers who save at least 100,000 KRW monthly for three years will receive a matching grant of 100,000 KRW per month from the government, while basic livelihood security recipients and the near-poverty class will receive a monthly grant of 300,000 KRW.
Youth wishing to apply must visit their local administrative welfare center during the application period with documents proving income, such as a certificate of employment or income statement, and a lease contract. For further inquiries, consultation is available through the Welfare Policy Division of Geochang County Office. Eligible candidates will be selected in August after a household income and property investigation.
County Governor Gu In-mo said, “We ask for active applications so that more young people can benefit, and we will continue to strive to support the independence of the working youth.”
