The Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency's 'Gyeonggi Business Center (GBC),' established in 14 major export hubs worldwide, recorded the highest export performance ever this year.
On the 30th, the agency announced that GBC's performance in the first quarter (January to March) of this year reached a record high of 30 million USD, a 22.9% increase compared to the previous year.
The GBC, operated by the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency in 14 countries worldwide, recorded an all-time high export performance of 300 billion dollars in the first quarter of this year.
Opened first in Mumbai, India in 2005, GBC serves as Gyeonggi-do's export forward base and currently operates 19 offices in 14 major export hubs worldwide, including the United States, China, Russia, and India. It provides overseas marketing infrastructure and acts as a foothold for local companies' overseas expansion by offering free video export consultation services and local exhibitions such as G-FAIR.
Kang Seong-cheon, head of the agency, stated, "We regard this year as the inaugural year for GBC's performance achievements and plan to operate GBC more actively so that export results can be tangibly felt. Our goal is for 4,000 companies to achieve results and to reach 100 million USD in contract amounts."
The agency plans to expand customized support for companies by ▲expanding GBC's strategic functions ▲restructuring GBC based on demand, performance, and market trends ▲and developing an AI-based GBC export support system to enhance GBC's performance.
