Kyobo Securities announced on the 30th that it discussed cooperation plans on environmental issues and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) investment with Kyrgyzstan, a Central Asian country, on the 29th.

High-ranking officials, including Daniyar Amanzeldiyev, Minister of Economy and Trade of Kyrgyzstan, visited and exchanged various opinions with Lee Seok-ki, CEO of Kyobo Securities.
On that day, the Kyrgyzstan officials showed great interest in Kyobo Securities' global ESG projects, including environmental initiatives, electricity generation using greenhouse gases, and carbon emissions trading. Minister Daniyar of the Ministry of Economy and Trade stated, "It is expected to have a positive impact not only on the sustainable development of local communities but also on the national economy."
Kyobo Securities is jointly conducting various projects in Kyrgyzstan with SejinJEN, a partner company engaged in landfill gas power generation, carbon emissions trading, and recycling centers. Currently, SejinJEN is promoting a project to capture, refine, and convert methane greenhouse gas from a large landfill located in Osh City into electric power.
Shin Hee-jin, head of new business at Kyobo Securities, said, "Kyobo Securities is acting as the financial partner for SejinJEN's carbon emissions trading project in Kyrgyzstan," adding, "We will continue to explore various activities linked to eco-friendly businesses from the perspective of ESG management."
