Songpa-gu Focuses on Improving Residents' Quality of Life and Safety in Supporting Apartment Complexes
Songpa-gu (District Mayor Seo Gang-seok) will invest 700 million KRW in support projects this year to ensure that residents of apartment complexes can live in a pleasant and safe environment.
The 700 million KRW budget was secured through 500 million KRW from the district's own funds and 190 million KRW in subsidies from Seoul City. Notably, Seoul City selected 10 complexes from Songpa-gu for the 'Model Apartment Complex Support Project,' the highest number among Seoul's autonomous districts, securing the largest amount of funding.
Seoul City's 'Model Apartment Complex Support Project' aims to foster a cooperative apartment community culture by identifying exemplary complexes that show consideration between apartment management workers and residents. Last year, two complexes from the district were selected and received 4.4 million KRW in support.
This year, the district actively promoted the Model Apartment Complex Support Project to local residents using Seoul City's document distribution system (S-APT), a key evaluation factor, and achieved first place with the highest performance through cooperation with city council members.
The Seoul City subsidies will be used in the 10 selected model complexes for ▲renovation of management workers' break rooms ▲improvement of resident community facilities such as senior centers ▲replacement of heating and cooling systems in common facilities ▲operating expenses for community activation projects.
Additionally, the district will invest 500 million KRW of its own budget to ensure the safety of apartment complexes. The target includes a total of 49 complexes, selected through document review and on-site inspections by the subsidy review committee, among apartment complexes with more than 30 households that have passed usage inspection and are over 10 years old.
For these complexes, support will be provided for improvements to children's playgrounds and senior centers, maintenance of sewage systems, road repairs, and tree pruning.
Furthermore, considering the characteristics of areas with many apartment complexes, the district is striving to create a safe and livable apartment environment by operating the first specialized apartment management counseling center among Seoul's autonomous districts, conducting surveys on apartment operation management status, and running an expert advisory group for apartment complexes.
District Mayor Seo Gang-seok stated, “Since apartment complexes account for 50% of Songpa-gu, they play an important role in the local residential environment. We will continue to enhance residents' quality of life through efficient housing administration and customized support.”
