The Department of International Relations at Silla University (President Heo Nam-sik) successfully held the '21st Century Political Science Association 1st Monthly Meeting.'
On the 26th, the '21st Century Political Science Association 1st Monthly Meeting' was held at the Silla University International Hall under the theme 'Analysis and Prospects of the 22nd National Assembly Election Results.'
Moderated by Professor Lee Dong-yoon of Silla University's Department of International Relations (President of the 21st Century Political Science Association), this monthly meeting and academic research session featured a presentation of analysis data on the 22nd general election results by Professor Kim Do-kyung of Dong-Eui University. The session included passionate discussions among attendees on ▲ the correlation between historical presidential approval ratings and general election results ▲ the impact of the semi-proportional representation system on election outcomes ▲ and the election results in Busan City.
The 21st Century Political Science Association, which is based in the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam regions and includes members nationwide, plans to hold 3 to 4 regular academic conferences annually as well as monthly academic research meetings covering a broad range of social science topics.
Professor Lee Dong-yoon of Silla University's Department of International Relations, who serves as president of the 21st Century Political Science Association, stated, "Through this monthly meeting, we plan to broaden the horizons of interest and awareness in political science and social sciences and expand the potential for development as a practical discipline reflecting various real-world political phenomena."
The 21st Century Political Science Association, in collaboration with the Busan City Council, hosts a mock council competition in Busan to contribute to the cultivation of political awareness among university students. Moving forward, it will conduct various activities to academically analyze diverse political science topics related to the daily lives of Busan citizens and propose alternatives.
