Support for Eupmyeon-dong Sports Competitions and More
On the 29th, Anseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it will implement a 'Reusable Container Support Project' to reduce the use of disposable products at major events and festivals.
To this end, starting with the Seoun-myeon Sports Competition on the 20th, the city plans to support reusable containers to replace existing disposable containers at sports competitions in 15 eup, myeon, and dong districts. Along with this, the area for the reusable container support project for restaurants will be expanded from the existing Anseong 1, 2, and 3-dong to Gongdo-eup. As a result, residents in Gongdo-eup will also be able to use reusable container delivery services through Baedal Teukgeup, Baedal Minjok, and Yogiyo.

In addition to sports competitions, the city plans to expand the reusable container support project to various sectors such as public offices and funeral halls. Previously, based on the experience of using reusable containers at last year's Baudeogi Festival, the city established a plan to support reusable containers at major events and festivals in Anseong, including eup, myeon, and dong sports competitions.
A city official expressed expectations that "through this reusable container support project at sports competitions, the amount of disposable plastic waste will be reduced by more than 1.2 tons, and the effect of reducing greenhouse gases by more than 1 ton can also be achieved."
