[Special Stock] YC Chem Expected to Mass-Produce EUV PR Rinse... Localization of German Monopoly Market

YC Chem is showing strong performance. Expectations for the commercialization of rinses for Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) photoresist (PR) appear to be influencing the stock price.

As of 10:53 AM on the 29th, YC Chem is trading at 30,000 KRW, up 24.48% from the previous trading day.

Semiconductor process material developer YC Chem announced that global customers have begun evaluation of its in-house developed rinse product for the EUV lithography process production lines.

YC Chem's rinse for EUV PR has been undergoing testing on production lines of global semiconductor customers since this month. If the production test evaluation is passed, full-scale mass production and supply are expected to begin as early as the second half of this year.

YC Chem's rinse for extreme ultraviolet photoresist is used after applying the photoresist in the semiconductor EUV lithography process. It plays a role in preventing pattern collapse or bridging caused by the short wavelength light source in the EUV process, while improving resolution, roughness, and sensitivity.

Currently, the domestic market for EUV PR rinses is monopolized by a German company. If YC Chem succeeds in commercialization, it will be the first case of localization. According to market research firm TECHCET, the global market size for EUV PR rinses is expected to grow from $50 million in 2021 to $200 million by 2025, driven by the rapid advancement of semiconductor nano processes.

Founded in 2001, YC Chem is an advanced semiconductor material developer with numerous firsts in semiconductor material development. In 2004, it was the first in the world to develop rinses for Argon Fluoride (ArF) and Krypton Fluoride (KrF) photoresists. In 2015, it also introduced the world's first rinse for special-purpose ArF immersion processes. YC Chem is currently developing various materials for EUV light sources and has started mass production of EUV Thinner and Developer. It is also developing EUV PR and EUV Underlayer products.
