Improving Water Quality of Anyangcheon
EM Mud Ball Making and Throwing Volunteer Activity Conducted
On the 27th, Coway announced that it conducted its third ‘EM Soil Ball Making and Throwing Volunteer Activity’ at Anyangcheon as part of its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) efforts.
In this event, a total of 30 Coway employees and their family members gathered to knead fermented beneficial microorganism solution and loess to make 1,500 EM soil balls, which were then thrown into the waters of Anyangcheon.
Coway executives, employees, and their families are throwing EM soil balls into the Anyangcheon Stream.
EM (Effective Microorganism) soil balls are made by kneading beneficial microorganism fermented solution and loess. When introduced into rivers or streams, they gradually dissolve, purifying the water and eliminating odors. As the ecosystem of rivers and streams recovers, it also helps absorb and reduce carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
Through the ‘EM Soil Ball Making and Throwing Volunteer Activity,’ now in its third round, Coway has produced and thrown a cumulative total of 10,000 EM soil balls into waterways over the past two years, actively practicing ecosystem restoration.
A Coway representative stated, “We will continue to carry out various eco-friendly ESG projects to pass on a healthy planet to future generations.”
