On the 28th, the Busan Haeundae Police Station announced that they are investigating about 10 men on charges of violating the Act on the Aggravated Punishment, etc. of Specific Crimes related to violent acts. The mass brawl occurred on the 24th in the entertainment district behind the Grand Hotel in U-dong, Haeundae. Initially, two men fought for about five minutes, but about an hour and 30 minutes later, other men who were contacted joined in, expanding the brawl to involve around 10 men in total.


The police initially received a report from residents during the early stage when two men were fighting and arrived at the scene, but those causing the disturbance had already disappeared. After the police withdrew, it is reported that they gathered again and resumed the fight.


It is known that they conducted the brawl in a manner where several men grouped together to confront each other. Due to their rampage, some facilities such as glass doors of nearby buildings were damaged. Merchants and citizens were left in fear. Some witnesses reportedly stated that the men involved in the brawl were carrying weapons.


The police are investigating whether those involved in the brawl actually belong to a violent organization. They are also focusing on questioning the reasons behind the mass fight. The police plan to apply for arrest warrants for about 10 men as soon as their identities are confirmed.
