Seoul Eunpyeong-gu (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced on the 29th that it will hold the ‘52nd Parents' Day Commemoration Event’ on the 2nd of next month at the Eunpyeong Cultural and Arts Center, inviting about 700 local senior citizens. This event was prepared to express gratitude and respect to all parents and to spread a social atmosphere of filial piety and respect for the elderly in our society.
The event will begin with a lively janggu drum dance performance by the ‘Songjeong Eun Dance Troupe’ and a choir performance by children from ‘Yebon Daycare Center.’ In the first part of the ceremony, awards will be presented to filial piety practitioners, exemplary parents, and organizations contributing to filial piety practice, and a plaque of appreciation will be given to Aekyung Industrial for its contribution to improving senior welfare.
Last year, Aekyung Industrial signed an agreement with Eunpyeong-gu and jointly carried out the senior job project ‘Detergent Station Earth,’ which practices carbon neutrality. They sponsored detergents worth 500 million KRW and supported the external activities of local senior citizens.
Following this, there will be a carnation presentation ceremony and a group singing of the song ‘Mother’s Grace.’ In the second part of the celebration, there will be a samulnori performance by the ‘Haneum World Yeonhui Team’ and a fan dance performance by the ‘Songjeong Eun Dance Troupe.’
District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung said, “I sincerely congratulate those who have received awards for practicing beautiful filial piety in person,” and added, “With the heart of caring for our parents, we will do our best to ensure that the senior citizens of our district live happy later years and to jointly envision a hopeful centenarian era.”
