Jeon Yeo-ok: "People Power Party Should Learn Min Hee-jin's 'Fighting Spirit'"

"Not Rich but 'Rich Cautious' People of the People Power Party, Losing Appeal"

Former Saenuri Party (predecessor of the People Power Party) lawmaker Jeon Yeo-ok advised the People Power Party, which suffered a crushing defeat in the April 10 general election, to "learn from Min Hee-jin, the 'fighting spirit' of NewJeans' mom."

On the 28th, Jeon said on social media (SNS), "Now that they are no longer rich but poor, the People Power Party still acts cautiously like the rich, which is disappointing."

She viewed Min Hee-jin, CEO of ADOR, as having swayed public opinion to her side through a press conference on the 25th. "Min CEO seems to have won the public opinion battle for now. She planned her strategy well," she said. "It was not 'Bang Si-hyuk, CEO of HYBE vs. Min Hee-jin, CEO of ADOR,' but rather 'the giant corporation HYBE' vs. 'label ADOR, a vulnerable woman, and Min Hee-jin, NewJeans' mom,' creating an emotional resistance that made it seem like a battle between Goliath and David," she analyzed. She also praised Min for revealing the message she received from Chairman Bang Si-hyuk, 'You can step on aespa, right?' saying, "Moreover, she even provoked the aespa fandom."

"At the press conference, Min CEO poured out embarrassing curses, tears, and incoherent words. The lawyers sitting with her also closed their eyes tightly, saying things like 'Oh, why are you like this?' and 'Oh dear, what should we do?'" she said, adding, "But public opinion turned to 'CEO Bang did wrong, and CEO Min must feel unfair and frustrated.'"

Professor Shim Gyu-jin: "Despite Min Hee-jin’s Feminist-style Complaining, Young Men in Their 20s Enthusiastically Responded"

"Professor Shim Gyu-jin saw the conservative problems through the 'Min Hee-jin incident.' I agree with him," she said. Earlier, Shim Gyu-jin, author of 'Han Dong-hoon Born in 1973' and professor at IE University in Spain, wrote on Facebook about Min CEO’s press conference, "It dominated not only online but also the public agenda. The unique point is that despite Min Hee-jin using hateful expressions like 'gaejeossi' (a derogatory term for middle-aged men) and whining in a feminist style about being victimized as a woman, there was enthusiastic response even from young male communities in their 20s."

He added, "What is the implication of the Min Hee-jin incident for the conservative political sphere? Direct confrontation and frank outbursts have become a trend," and said, "Ultimately, the public of this era was more enthusiastic about Min Hee-jin’s rough and coarse roar than HYBE’s smooth and rational response. It reminds us that the conservative political sphere, which pursues political correctness too cautiously and emphasizes the rule of law, collapsed helplessly under provocations like the Daeppa (radical left-wing) movement."

Jeon agreed with Professor Shim’s analysis and said, "I hope the ruling party, which is always terrified and trembling with 'negative neurosis,' learns from CEO Min’s 'fighting spirit.' It’s pathetic that they say things like 'We won because we did as former Reform Party Standing Advisor Kim Jong-in told us' while looking for a place to hide when they could fight fiercely and still lose."
