Next Year's Host Location: Jeonnam Mokpo-si Area
The grand festival for amateur athletes nationwide concluded successfully, wrapping up all scheduled events.
According to the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Sports Council (Chairman Jeong Gang-seon) on the 28th, the '2024 National Amateur Sports Festival,' held over four days from the 25th to the 28th in Ulsan Metropolitan City, promised to return next year.

This event is a grand festival where amateur sports enthusiasts represent their respective cities and provinces to compete in friendly competition. This year, about 60,000 people from across the country visited Ulsan. Jeonbuk Province sent approximately 1,100 players and officials to participate in 39 events across five categories (under 12, under 15, under 18, university, and general divisions).
Unlike the National Sports Festival, the Amateur Sports Festival does not determine or announce an overall ranking by city or province but awards top winners in each event. Jeonbuk showed strong performances across various events.
Gold medals were won in soccer, equestrian, roller sports, athletics, and ice skating, while silver medals poured in from underwater fin swimming, golf, tennis, mountain sports, and archery. Valuable bronze medals were also earned in ground golf, hapkido, and Kukhak Qigong.
Meanwhile, next year's National Amateur Sports Festival will be held in Mokpo City, Jeollanam-do.
Jeong Gang-seon, Chairman of the Jeonbuk Sports Council, said, "All amateur athletes who participated in this festival of harmony and celebration will have unforgettable memories," and added, "We will strive even harder to promote amateur sports."
